Mick Landelt’s score for Osim Targell’s award-winning stop motion short « Lilly Goracious and the Pseudosun ».

In a crumbling world of stoney ruins, broken glass and muddy skies, Lilly Goracious is the sole custodian of a strip of tarry
black soil from which she attempts to draw enough food to feed herself and her hungry family. One day a second sun-like ball appears in the sky, the earth seems to start giving again but they are soon to discover that this fertilizing light is not the blessing that it seems to be. To live with hunger or to be consumed with a full belly.

Directors statement :

« First we met over drink, and then again and again! The music of Mick makes everything of the story and the tension around the character of Lilly Goracious and her hungry ways of life. I was making the reference to the likes of Valerian and Pier Paulo and Mister Landelt was making the nod to the sound of lust and desire of Darius Milhaud meets a drum machine from Berlin as we watch as Lillian tries to fall in love with the end of the world. Always, in the movie, the end of time is won by the cold heads, the rationalists and the heroes but for me it is only those far away from their minds that can survive because they have been rehearsing the apocalypse all their lives. The music of Mick is on the vibration of this hysteria but also conscious of it’s one own nature. »
